Hey guys remember not to disclose your personal information to anyone over the Internet unless you are sure who they are and what they are going to do with your personal information. 

Personal information means any details or opinions about you, from which your identity is apparent or your identity can be uncovered.

Discuss this privacy policy with your parents or guardians before applying for a wildkard™.  Why?  Because its important that you understand our commitment to protect your personal information and that you are comfortable with our commitment before disclosing your personal information.

What is wildkard™?

wildkard™ is a great way to greet and keep in touch with people.  When you apply for a wildkard™ you will provide us with certain personal information.  Your personal information allows us or one of our sponsor's to identify you.

We understand that your personal information is important to you and that you want your personal information protected at all times.  We commit to dealing with your personal information in accordance with the National Privacy Principles for the protection of personal information, as set out in the Privacy Act (Cth) 1988 and The Direct Marketing Code of Practice November 2001.

Why do we collect your personal information?

We collect your personal information to:
(a) prepare your wildkard™;
(b) understand what products or services interest you most; and
(c) notify you of any great products or services that we or our sponsors have that may be of interest to you (ie direct marketing).

By collecting the personal information we, and our sponsors, are able to:
(a) provide information directly to you with about products and services that are likely to be of most interest to you; and
(b) provide that information through direct marketing campaigns.

It is not our desire, nor the desire of our sponsors, to send you marketing materials if you are not interested in them.  So when you receive any material that you do not want to receive, simply let us know when we contact you.  There is no cost to you in letting us know that you do not require any particular marketing information.

Are you a young person?

If you are not 18 years of age yet and do not understand anything about this privacy policy then you should ask you parent(s) or guardian(s) to explain it to you.  After they have explained it to you (with their assistance) can decide whether to order a wildkard™ and provide us with the personal information we require about you.

We hope that after you see the benefits of being a wildkard™ holder and understand our privacy policy you will choose to be a wildkard™ holder and register with us.

How do we collect personal information?

We prefer to collect personal information from you directly.  If it is not practical to collect information from you directly then we may collect that information indirectly.  The only information that we collect indirectly is how you use the wildkard™ website.  This information will let us know how we can change the website to be of most interest and benefit to you and our other users.

To whom do we disclose your personal information?

We have selected a number of sponsors to work with us and to whom we disclose your personal information.  The information is disclosed for the purpose of providing you with various products and services from time to time.  In choosing these sponsors, we have taken reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that they comply with the National Privacy Principles and respect and protect your personal information in a manner that is similar to the way that we respect and protect your personal information.

In addition to our sponsors, we may be compelled by law to provide your personal information to other organisations such as the tax office.

Why do we disclose your personal information?

We may share your personal information with a sponsor if you have chosen to participate in a particular campaign that the sponsor is running by  registering for that campaign with us. 

As mentioned above these are organisations that:
(a) have assured us that they will respect and protect your personal information in a similar manner to us; and
(b) you have consent to the disclosure of the personal information to that organisation or that type of organisation by registering for their marketing promotions campaigns.

Your consent to the disclosure of your personal information can be provided to us directly (ie in writing, email or orally) or can be implied (eg by registering for a wildkard™).

Keeping your personal information accurate and up to date

Your wildkard™ will be of limited benefit if the information we hold is not accurate and up to date.  We would like you to inform us of any changes to your personal information as soon as those changes occur. This can be done by sending an email to us: info@wildkard.com.au

If you advise of the changes to your personal information, we will up date our records.  You will be able to review these details at any time.

In addition, you may be able to review and alter your personal information directly.  To change your personal information directly, simply follow these instructions:
(a) go to the original website link associated with the particular sponsor 'entry page' - (eg http//www.wildkard.com.au/theclient);
(b) on this page you will have the ability to enter your email address;
(c) an email will be sent to you containing an encrypted link;
(d) by clicking on the link, you are able to confirm that you are the legitimate owner of the email account; and
(e) the email link will return you to your personal information, where you can review the information we hold or make the necessary changes to it.

Getting access to your personal information

General information such as your name, address, and contact details will be able to be provided quite easily and hopefully these will match those on your wildkard™. 

If you require any more detailed information we hold, we may need a little more time to collate that information and depending on what information you ask for, we may need to charge a small fee for collating and providing that information to you.  It may also take up to 15 working days for this information to be collated and provided to you.

How long do we hold your personal information?

We hold your personal information for as long as your are a wildkard™ holder and/or we are required to do so by law.  Once you cease being a wildkard™ holder the information that we hold may no longer be accurate and up to date and therefore of little benefit. 

We will destroy or permanently de-identify your personal information in a safe and thorough manner after your are no longer a wildkard™ holder and we are no longer required to hold your personal information.

How do we protect your personal information?

Your personal information is important to us and we take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information at all times.

We will take reasonable steps to secure and protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. 

As stated above, we will take reasonable steps to:
(a) keep your information accurate and up to date; and
(b) destroy it or de-identify it when it is no longer required.

So how safe is our website?

We will endeavour to take all reasonable steps to keep secure any information, which we hold about you, and to keep this information accurate and up to date.

This website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.  The secure server software we use is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions.  It encrypts all of your personal information, including name, phone number(s) and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet.  However, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot give an absolute assurance that the information you provide to us will be secure at all times.

We may use overseas facilities to process or back up its information.  As a result, we transfer and store your personal information to our overseas facilities.  However, this does not change any of our commitments to safeguard your privacy.

You can also play an important role in keeping your personal information secure, by maintaining the confidentiality of any password (if applicable) and accounts details used on our website.
